Peran Kelembagaan dalam Mendukung Ketahanan Pangan bagi Kesejahteraan Masyarakat

Abstract

Indonesian population is 237.6 million. The need for food continues to increase along with the increase of population. Large population as followed by the need of food is a sensitive issue. It is inevitable frequent upheavals in the community often triggered by the rising prices and shortages of food. Food security has become a national commitment to a strategic role in national development. Three aspects of the strategic role are access to food and adequate nutrition as the most fundamental rights to humans, the the importance role of food to the formation of qualified human resources, and food security for families is one of the main pillars to support national food security. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of institutions to support food security for the welfare of the family as a part of the community. The data and information obtained from
secondary data, such as journals, research reports, statistical data, and others data both from print and electronic media in accordance with the topic of discussion. The method used in this study is qualitative non-interactive (non-interactive inquiry). The analysis is conducted based on data and information available to the qualitative approach to draw conclusions. This article supposed can be useful for policy makers in the field of food, researchers, students and society.
