Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the supervision process carried out by supervisors or administrators of the Indonesian Volunteer Society (MRI) organization in terms of administrative, educational, and support aspects. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive type of research. The techniques used were in-depth interviews, literature and documentation studies, and participatory observation. The results show that in the process, the supervision carried out on volunteers was interrelated from one aspect to another based on the concept presented by Harkness and Kadushin. The supervision process carried out by supervisors is also adjusted to the management conditions and characteristics of MRI volunteers at the local and regional levels. This adds to the substance of the discussion regarding the supervision mechanism of volunteers in humanitarian volunteer organizations that has been carried out by MRI as one of the largest volunteer organizations in Indonesia.
