KONTRIBUSI DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DAN KEBERMAKNAAN HIDUP TERHADAP HARGA DIRI MANTAN PECANDU NAPZA

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the role of family support and meaning in life to self-esteem on former drug addict. The study hypothesis that family support and meaning in life have a role to self-esteem on former drug addict. The population was all the former drug addict in Palembang which consist 40 former drug addict used for try out and 70 former drug addict were used for the research sample, and used sampling purposive technique for the criteria sampling. Family support, meaning in life and self-esteem was measured by the scale. Family support reference to the aspect of social support from House and Kahn (1985); and the aspect of self-esteem from Coopersmith (1967). Data analysis used multi regression analysis. Hypothesis test results with regression analysis techniques obtained R = 0.632; F = 22.265 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which shows there is a role of family support and meaningfulness of life to self-esteem in former drug addicts in Palembang. The effective contribution of the effective contribution of the variable family support - self-esteem at 3.0% and meaning of life - self-esteem at 36.8%. It means hypothesis of this research is accepted.
