Abstract

This study was conducted to collect sufficient information about the relationship between gender equality issues and stunting prevention and management efforts. The method used was by tracing various previous studies on child marriage, the growth of adolescent girls, parenting patterns, and socio-cultural conditions related to dietary restrictions that have an impact on nutritional fulfillment for mothers and children under five. The results of this study indicate that child marriage can result in children being born with low birth weight, not accessing health services to monitor child development, and not carrying out Early Initiation of Breastfeeding. Abstinence from food in several ethnic groups in Indonesia and the marginalization of women in getting food and the effect of death on adolescent girls can pose a risk of stunting. Based on the results of this literature study, it can be concluded that the dimensions of gender equality related to women's roles, access, control, and empowerment have not received sufficient attention in fulfilling women's practical and strategic needs.
